Oil companies shorting U.S. taxpayers
Surprise!
Who would have thought that the Bush administration would be very "friendly" to the oil companies? We're not just securing new business for them (see the Unocal pipeline through Afghanistan, and the Iraq occupation... read the second article in Jared's Tuesday post, linked here, which, by the way, is awesome!), but we're securing even more profits for them by allowing them to determine what royalties they pay our government for the oil they take out of our ground.
From the New York Times.
