The U.S. v. Jose Padilla

Jose Padilla is found incapable of assisting in his own defense after 21 months of imprisonment and torture in a South Carolina military prison.

Kudos to the U.S. Government for ensuring that Mr. Padilla gets a speedy and fair trial (Amendment VI), and for not punishing him cruelly or unusually (Amendment VIII). [/sarcasm]
