al-Maliki... Heck of a guy...

Well, apparently murder is OK in Iraq - as long as you're only killing American soldiers.

And this guy is the guy we're cool with as PM of America's Oil Whor... I mean, Iraq...?

Whose side is Bush on?

Oh, yeah... right... $$$.

Sorry. Carry on.

Interesting...

When a Muslim describes someone as "a heretic as anathema to Islam as Ariel Sharon, George Bush and Ehud Olmert combined," that's kinda bad... right?

Well, this Muslim is talking about one Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Maybe the next war...

...won't be in Iran.

How about Somalia? Guess who is there now? The Taliban. I'm sure we'll be hearing about this soon: "Where the Taliban go, Al-Qaeda terrorists are sure to follow."

If the Republicans continue to get their way, we will be in a state of perpetual war, fighting boogeyman after boogeyman... until the rest of the world has had enough of our arrogance and drops a few bombs on our asses.

I don't understand something...

If you work for $5.15/hr at a regular, 40-hour-a-week pace, you make around 56% of the POVERTY level. So, to work a 40-hour week and make it above the poverty level, the minimum wage would need to be ~$9.25/hr.

In cities that have raised their minimum wages to a "living wage," employment AND the economy have both improved.

So why are the Republicans stonewalling a proposal to raise the minimum wage to $7.25 in 3 installments over two years? Probably two reasons at work here: It's not their idea, and it takes money out of the pockets of those CEO's who, let's face it, deserve every last bit of money that they can swindle out of us before we stand up and say, "ENOUGH!"

Correlations, anyone?

Very interesting...

"[Environmental group WWF] said pollutants such as flame retardants, pesticides and fluorinated chemicals made Arctic wildlife vulnerable to health problems including immune suppression and hormone disturbances."

Wonder what all these wonderful things that we wrap our children in and make them eat and drink are actually doing to them?

We may not be doing any harm to humans... but do we need to tempt fate so much?

Uh oh, there goes a catchphrase...

According to PollingReport.com, Bush's approval rating is in the mid-30's on average now. I'd hazard a guess that this is due to his unscheduled "trip to Iraq," which consisted of him spending 5 hours on the grounds of the future American Corporate Mega-Embassy (ACME, hah!) of Iraq, which is technically territory of America. Bush has NO idea what is going on there, simply because he does not care about Iraqi citizens or American soldiers. It took the press' attention AWAY from another $90+ billion in war spending (of money we don't have) AND the attempts to repeal the Paris Hilton/American Aristocracy Tax AND the attempts to destroy the Net Neutrality Amendment.

My favorite Bush administration flunkie I like seeing skewered alive? John Bolton. If only because he is so arrogant that he asks two Oxford students with accents where they come from before answering their questions. What should it matter where they come from, especially since I doubt his answers would be any different were the questioner from (insert any country here).

Bolton's views clearly show how much contempt he has for the United Nations, and the concept of equality for all. They do not want equality for the people of the United States; why should they want it for the nations of the United Nations?

America = equality of opportunity. At least, that's what I always thought it was supposed to be... The only people the Bush administration wants to have equal opportunities are members of the world aristocracy. The rest of us can suffer at their behest...

Stand against the 29% for whom criminalizing abortion and gay marriage are FAR more important than supporting and spreading true American values - Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Getting rolling...

The first series of tests begins today...

So, global warming is nothing, right? No big deal, according to the 29-percenters. Well, even IF our contribution to global warming is "minor," it may well turn out to be not-so-"inconsequential." This article describes one such consequence.
