The show continues to be formed for tonight !!!

RALPH:The Oriley clip on blowing up Iran, could fit into the Iraq Study group report. I found some hysterical ass kissing by Brit Hume and more feces falling out of Bush's mouth on Fox news!! Hume kissing Bush's ass on Cuvuto is hysterical and Bush talking about "no civil war, and relative peace outside of Baghdad" too good not to play and shred apart on the show

So tell us, wht do you want to hear on tonight's show? Is there anyone reading our blog???????
We know you listen to the show!!!!!!

Tune in tonight

Where to put this?

Question:

Should we use Bill O'Reilly's comment, as posted by MediaMatters, for the oil story... or the warmongering angle of the ISG report?

Jared, you can edit this into the appropriate story if you have a feel for it.

Edit 1:15PM: I'm off for the day...

Dennis Prager redux.

First, a copy of the link from Jared's post from MediaMatters re: Prager's comments on Keith Ellison's swearing in on a Qu'ran instead of a Bible.

A few organizations have called for Prager to be removed from his presidential appointment to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council. Read about that from ThinkProgress.

The AP provides a good synopsis... plus it includes the Bush administration's response: "HAHAHA... You guys are too funny."

Five days a week? No way...

Apparently, at least one member of Congress thinks that working more than three days a week will "eat away at families... Marriages suffer," AND... "The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what [their planning a five-day work week on the 110th Congress] says." These statements come from one Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA).

What, you expect us to actually work, with all the fundraising we have to do so we can keep doing more "work"? Come on, it's breaking my back here... [/sarcasm]

Wow. I bet this comes as a shock to mothers and fathers everywhere who work five, six, or seven days a week while trying to keep their kids safe, raise them properly, and still have enough money to keep them fed and educated so that they may continue to live that life.

Two points of irony:
1. The current session of Congress has done less work than the "Do-Nothing" Congress. It has convened the least amount of time ever, and has done minimal legislative work.
2. Unlike the rest of us, poor saps that we are, their pay raises are guaranteed, and not tied to performance to any degree, because they get to give themselves their own raises.

Read about this more at ThinkProgress.
Read a fuller story from the Washington Post.

Iraq Study Group report

Yes, the Iraq Study Group has released their assessment, finally.

Repudiation of Bush's Iraq policy... or a whitewash for him and his administration?

You decide.

Read the Washington Post assessment.
George F. Will's column is interesting, too.
Read the New York Times breakdown.
Read the actual document (PDF, long).

Edit: George W. Bush is a sick man. A sick, mentally disturbed and disconnected man.

"It's bad in Iraq. That help?"

You piece of horse excrement. You filth. You poor excuse for a human being, much less a godly one.

Extra Edit: No surprise, Bill O'Reilly is covered in waste products as well. Let them kill each other. Indeed.

Oil companies shorting U.S. taxpayers

Surprise!

Who would have thought that the Bush administration would be very "friendly" to the oil companies? We're not just securing new business for them (see the Unocal pipeline through Afghanistan, and the Iraq occupation... read the second article in Jared's Tuesday post, linked here, which, by the way, is awesome!), but we're securing even more profits for them by allowing them to determine what royalties they pay our government for the oil they take out of our ground.

From the New York Times.

Dick's grandchild will have two mommies!

Mary Cheney is with child...

Congratulations to her. We can now sit back and watch as the Christian dominionists attack her. It should be plenty amusing, and, as seen in the article cited here, it has already, albeit moderately, begun.

Turning back the clock?????

Desegregation in pubic schools, has turned up as an issue once more after all these years since Brown v Board of Education, after 2 interesting suits filed in Seattle and Kentucky regarding school integration. On surface it seems like this is a case of turning back the clock to the days of segregation, but would these programs really be needed if the the Public school education system was fair in relation to funding for public schools? These "bussing programs" while noble in intention are just a temporary fix to a broken system. The bigger issue is the lack of federal funding and the dependence on property taxes for public schools.

Should we talk about this tonight ? Let us know!!

some interesting stories.....

Hey, It's Jared from the ELPN. Ralph and I mentioned last night on the show that we would try something new. Normally we exchange emails (between eachother) with ideas for the next web cast of Evil Liberal Propaganda Network Monday and Thursday Night 10PM-Mid (EST) on indieairplay.com ; since we have this blog and new centralized URL evilliberals.com we will now post the possibilities for the next show for all to see. YOU the listener can comment and tell us which topics we should rap on, right here!! Here are a few items I liked
A. Dennis Prager, attack on Keith Ellison for wanting to swear on the Koran when sworn into office. A dumb conserva-nazi distraction issue, pathetically debated by a certified hack

B. The Surreal Politics of Premeditated War, Great essay by R.W. Behan who really sums up the 6 years of the Bush crime family. This essay might just be too long for the radio program!!! Check it out anyway!!!

C. After reading Rumsfeld's Iraq memo, it became clear why he resigned as he seemed to no longer want to stay the corse in Iraq which the Bush crime cabal wanted nothing to do with. Stability in Iraq results in less stealing, so Rumsfeld had to go. This is interesting and really makes you wonder about Robert Gates. Does Gates really mean it when he says he wants to find a solution in Iraq as he promised before the Senate Armed Services Committe or is he another "yes sir" Bush crony? After all he has ties to Bush Sr, so he is no stranger to the Bush crime cabal, was his approval a trade off for Bolten resigning?

Tell us what you think of any of these topics. Ralph is sure to post some stories tomorrow, as we work on the next show for Thursday night !!

Where is the love?

The U.S. government is asking for trouble.

They repaired the levees in New Orleans to pre-Katrina levels, but have essentially stopped work on improving them.

From the New York Times.

The Army Corps of Engineers Lt. Gen Strock says, "It takes time to think through what needs to be done. It takes time to make things happen. You don’t move 5.5 million cubic yards of earth overnight." This is true.

However, the problem is that this kind of statement leads to the Travelers Insurance company's decision to CANCEL all of its commercial insurance policies in many of the hardest-hit parishes on Louisiana.

From the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Oh, also from the first article cited: "Congress has ordered the Army Corps to upgrade the city’s hurricane protection system to standards first authorized in 1965 — goals that were not reached because of a series of compromises and mistakes, the corps has admitted."

Emphasis most certainly mine.

Joe LIEberman, Neocon in Democrat's clothing.

If I wasn't convinced he's a Neocon before, this about seals it.

And it's not just that LIEberman is parroting the Bush Party line; it's that he is rebuked for his idiocy by...

get ready...

Chuck Hagel, R-NE.

From ThinkProgress.

Maybe some credit is due.

Maybe Rumsfeld left the government because he finally realized that the Democrats may have been right... it's about time to "cut and run," as the Neocons like to refer to any Democratic plan that even hints at the "redeployment" of troops.

Should we give him credit? I'm not sold yet. But, what we do know is...

Rummy's a cut-and-runner. Who'd have thought THAT a month ago?

From the New York Times.
From the AP.
Read Rumsfeld's 21 Ideas.

Can we do anything right?

We've been talking for weeks about the U.S.'s inability to train an effective police force in Iraq.

Guess what? It's more of the same in Afghanistan. Excellent idea, hiring private contractors to turn people into "police." They've probably spent more time - and money - training the Taliban and their friends.

From the New York Times.

Paul Krugman is our hero!

A true patriot of the United States for this era. The cost of TimesSelect is worth it, if only to read this man's insights.

From the New York TimesSelect.

The U.S. v. Jose Padilla

Jose Padilla is found incapable of assisting in his own defense after 21 months of imprisonment and torture in a South Carolina military prison.

Kudos to the U.S. Government for ensuring that Mr. Padilla gets a speedy and fair trial (Amendment VI), and for not punishing him cruelly or unusually (Amendment VIII). [/sarcasm]

From the New York Times.

Bolton go bye-bye

A victory for intelligent, rational people everywhere on this planet!

From the New York Times.
From the AP.

UPDATES:
View Bolton's resignation letter.
Read Bush's public response.

Best part of Bush's response: "I am deeply disappointed that a handful of United States Senators prevented Ambassador Bolton from receiving the up or down vote he deserved in the Senate. They chose to obstruct his confirmation, even though he enjoys majority support in the Senate, and even though their tactics will disrupt our diplomatic work at a sensitive and important time. This stubborn obstructionism ill serves our country, and discourages men and women of talent from serving their Nation."

Awww... poor baby Bushie...
