Times change.
So should the minimum wage.
The Senate passed the minimum wage bill, with $8.2 billion in TAX CUTS. The Republicans' defense? "Oh, the Democrats passed a minimum wage bill with tax cuts when Clinton was president!"
Please, Clinton wasn't raping the treasury. He wasn't borrowing billions from China to finance an illegal occupation of a sovereign nation in order to steal its oil from them for his buddies. He wasn't saddling the country with OTHER tax breaks that have lead to some of the largest budget deficits in the history of our great country.
Times change. The times, unfortunately, require more taxes, not less - thanks to Bush's "stellar" stewardship of the American economy. We'll be paying this off for generations as it is now; do we have to make it even worse?
There were 10 Republicans in the Senate who actually voted AGAINST the minimum wage, even WITH the tax cuts! The list (courtesy of ThinkProgress) contains the expected members of Bush's knee-pad squadron: Burr (R-NC), Chambliss (R-GA), Coburn (R-OK), DeMint (R-SC), Ensign (R-NV), Gregg (R-NH), Inhofe (R-OK), Isakson (R-GA), Kyl (R-AZ), Vitter (R-LA).

Failed Econ I didn't you there Jared? All the government is doing is driving up the bottom line, and in the end the rich get richer and the poor get screwed even more.
The simpler and better solution is for people to get an education so they can get a better job. Minimum wage jobs are great for kids still at home etc. People with families and commitments need to look up and out and find a better job. Some times that means effort on their part to get out of the rut they have stuck themselves in. Only a loser will CHOOSE to remain in a minimum wage job. There are dirty jobs that pay big bucks IF people are willing to work. Why are touch jobs like slaughter house, or construction filled with people from Mexico? The jobs usually pay pretty darn good. Its because SOME people are too lazy to take a job that REQUIRES effort. If thats the case, let them stay in their low paying job.

In areas with limited job opportunities sometimes there is NO CHOICE. This blog post was Ralph's by the way. Simgle mother's are not going to take construction jobs, which by the most part are filled by illegal immigrants. Of corse this fact obscures you. Bottom line of you are against rasinig the min, wage (95% of the country supports this0, you simply hate those who are less educated and less priviliged than you. Raisinf the wage does not make the "rich richer", preventing the raise achieves this. I did not fail economics, you are so clouded with far right delusional rhetoric, you have ZERO idea what you are talking about.

Tell that to a mom who had their baby and chose to be "pro-life" and has little education, and is forced to work a low paying job.
Like all conservatives you probably support the fetus and hate the family.
