Media starts their campaign for Rudy!!!
Rudy Giuliani does not really need a single commercial to convince Americans to vote for him in 2008; the mainstream media is doing it for him. On MSNBC, Nancy O'Donnell ignores every single point the author of "Grand Illusion" (Wayne Barrett of the Village Voice) has to make about Rudy's inability to lead, in favor of RNC talking points. Chris Matthews practically wets his pants over Rudy's "street smarts" in fighting terror! CNN and MSNBC are practically Giuliani campaign headquarters, and he only declared his run for president two days ago. Both networks are touting his slogan of being "America's Mayor".
Don't expect any constructive criticism by broadcast journalism when it comes to this man's bid for president.
Expect the media to attack Obama, Clinton, and Edwards non-stop, while ignoring Rudy's failures, personality flaws, and the fact that he is unqualified to be president. You will hear about Rudy being pro-choice and pro-gay rights, and maybe some talk about his divorces, but you will not hear a single word about his leadership ability. The media wants moderates to vote for this hack. They will try as hard as possible to make Rudy appealing to moderate Republicans, Independents, and Democrats, and give him a pass on everything.
At the ELPN, we will hold Rudy's credibility under a microscope in the upcoming year.
It is clear, within two days of Rudy declaring his presidential bid, that the mainstream media endorses him.
