FINAL ANALYSIS: Bush administration hates the Troops

In today's Washington Post, we learned that the conditions of Walter Reed were known for years. Rumsfeld's wife knew, and when one of her friends, a volunteer at Walter Reed, brought Mrs. Rumsfeld to a gathering of military wives, she (the friend) was fired!

Rep. Bill Young (R-FL) and his wife, previously regular visitors at Walter Reed, were shocked at how our veterans were being treated. In return, his wife, who raised the issue as well, was removed from the 2006 State of the Union address (remember?) for wearing a "Support the Troops" shirt. At the time, she was told it was considered a form of protest... and, now, we know WHY they thought it was a form of protest!

Let's connect the dots further, in 2005, Chairman of the Committee on Veterans Affairs, Rep. Chris Smith, was removed from the committee after 24 years. He was replaced with a Bush hack (recommended by DeLay and appointed by Hastert), Steve Buyer, who, in one of his first acts as chairman, banned veterans' service organizations from presenting testimony before a joint hearing of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees. This was done right before Veterans' Day!

This administration hates veterans, and anyone who tried to expose the conditions at Walter Reed, or defend veterans, was silenced and/or replaced.
