Reality on IRaq from the actual troops.
The N.Y Times ran an important op-ed written by seven infantrymen and non-comissioned officers. Their reality based evaluation contradicts the garbage that has been written by GOP operatives such as the infamous Michael O’Hanlon/Ken Pollack op-ed which the main stream media ejacuated in their pants over. I wonder if the MSM will cover what actual veterans have to say about the Iraq occupation with the same zeal they covered the propaganda with.
Just a taste of the REALITY based op-ed :
These vets understand exactly what the media is doing, and they do not appreciate the false portrayal. Interesting, the soldiers do not appreciate false reporting on Iraq, yet the bizzare conservative punditry think it's "treason" to report the real news. Fascinating!
Just a taste of the REALITY based op-ed :
To believe that Americans, with an occupying force that long ago outlived its reluctant welcome, can win over a recalcitrant local population and win this counterinsurgency is far-fetched. As responsible infantrymen and noncommissioned officers with the 82nd Airborne Division soon heading back home, we are skeptical of recent press coverage portraying the conflict as increasingly manageable and feel it has neglected the mounting civil, political and social unrest we see every day.
