Ret. Maj. Gen. Batiste takes country over party!

What is this? A Republican - a career-military one at that - has taken his entire party to task for their bungling of the Iraq occupation from start to finish. It's no surprise that his target audience - fellow conservatives - were kept from reading Batiste's essay by the Washington Times and the Wall Street Journal!!!

Why won't the Republicans in our government listen to the military - to people who have served their government at the behest of its corporate masters - when the military is telling them that their policies have made our country LESS safe and have NOT conformed to traditional conservative ideals?

My favorite part of the essay is when Batiste says, "Many politicians of my party continue to argue that we must liberally use up whatever our military has left." Just feel the irony dripping off of that one.

Just a thought. If this lifelong conservative and career military man was applauding the Iraq war strategy ... would you consider him at all credible?

Absoltly not, if he was applauding the Iraq policy, it would be obvious Kevin that the Bush crime regime got a hold of him and forced him to lie.

Remember Powell? Good soldier while working for the administration, once gone, a whole other story. So anyone from the military applauding the Bush crime families Iraqi experiment would be a bootlicker, not a realist

I'd have to take his words with FAR more weight than the words of the neo-cons in Washington, whose trips to Iraq are programmed to keep them away from the reality of the war. I would still be against the war, but at least I'd have a little more faith that it hasn't turned into an unmitigated disaster.

The question that REALLY needs to be asked, though, is whether that 30% of Americans who are still hanging on to the Bushies will take him seriously. I'm waiting for the "Batiste was paid off by George Soros" bullshit to start. You know it's coming.

Thanks for your comments and be sure to listen to our LIVE show tonight!
