Pre Show blogging...
In preparation for tonight's live broadcast on indieairplay.com here are some more news articles,Ralph and I will be discussing.
A BBC/ABC news joint poll, reveals the majority of the Iraqi people think the surge has failed Iraq, and over 60% of Iraqis think attacks on Americans by insurgents is justified. We are winning hearts and minds!
N.Y Times initial coverage of the long Petraeus testimony. As Ralph and I predicted last week on the ELPN, he discussed progress in Anbar and mentioned the idea of a draw down of troops returning the U.S military presence to "pre surge" levels, so in oither words Iraq will be a problem for the next president. So the "surge" will end but the war will continue forever? Think progress notes Petraeus taking all the credit for the Anbar reduction of violence , when in reality the Sunni tribes started the trend before we assisted them in killing Al Queda. Watch the media turn this into a "victory for Bush" and "the surge" !! Forget everything but the withdrawal of 30,000 (possibly by next Summer) Do not let the war mongering right change the debate from what it is : an illegal, unjustified occupation of a sovereign nation. This is the debate not "the surge". Washington Post describes how the numbers in Iraq are altered to paint a happy face. Crooks and Liars has Petraeus opening statement. Democrat Nick Lantos spells it out for all at the hearing today regarding today's testimony.
National Security experts discuss the lies and distortions of the Petraeus report. The National Security Network video is seen here on You Tube.
In other news Sidney Blumenthal confirms that Bush knew in advance Saddam had no W.M.D
Looking at main stream media hackery, Chris Matthews is back to kissing Rudy ass, when idiscussing the new Bin Laden video. Speaking of the Bin Laden video, the White House sent a Home Land Security hack to ratchet up the fear on Fox News, and David Brooks likens Bin Laden to being a lefty-blogger, and speaking of lefty bloggers, Hellabaloo shows us who Bin Laden really sounds like.. Bush! Washington post reports on the new Bin Laden video.
