You can't have it both ways.

Bush wants to reduce the budget deficit and offer tax cuts. It's a shame that the Congressional Budget Office has determined that Bush will have to choose one or the other - reducing the deficit without repealing some of Bush's tax cuts, or continuing the tax cuts and the death-spiral our budget is presently in.

Opinions of the State of The Union

An amazing opinion on the SOTU adress from Brent Budowsky sums it up quite well, Bush is a stubborn man ignoring the will of 80% of this country.

Let us not forget Jim Webb's after speech response, which was televised all over the country on all the networks. Webb tossed the Democrat talking points into the garbage and spoke truth to power

Today in Neo-Con land...

Only a few clips today. We may not even get to them on the show...

Glenn Beck, and his host company CNN, doesn't seem to think that the word "faggot" is derogatory when used to reference gay people.

The OxyPig calls Obama a "Halfrican American."

Bill O'Reilly gets uppity about "Soros-funded smear sites."

WashPost columnist Dana Milbank twice commented that, from where Hillary sat during the SotU, she could have "actually place[d] the knife into [Obama's] back."

These people are sick, filthy, degenerate familiars of the Bush cabal. CNN is a liberal network? HA. The Washington Post and New York Times are "left-wing" newspapers? HA. The right-wing has infiltrated every aspect of this media, and it hasn't been more pronounced than it has been since the November election.

Chuck Hagel, True American Patriot

The Republicans seem to have a black sheep in their crowd - Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE).

He reveals, in a GQ interview, that, when Bush went to Congress with his "Iraq war resolution," the initial draft was to give Bush the ability to wage war on the ENTIRE MIDDLE EAST.

Then, he tells colleagues on the floor of the Senate during his opening remarks to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, that "if you wanted a safe job, go sell shoes."

A Republican with sense? Inconceiveable! However... true.

We need more Hagel Republicans and less Bush Neo-Cons.

Peace plan offered by the militias?

The Iraqi government is looking for a way out of dealing with the armed miliatas that are killing American soldiers. It is obvious that al-Sadr and his militias control this Iraqi government and this is another way to appease them. So we spend trillions to prop up a militia-friendly Shiite government?

Meanwhile in the White House, the "surge" is headed to a showdown as the Senate Foreign Relations Committee shot down the Bush plan. The military is against the surge, America is against the surge, the entire Democratic party and several Republicans are against the surge, yet Bush will be sure to veto, or ignore, anything the Senate committee comes up with.

Bush ignores New Orleans in SotU

The flunkie in a flight suit managed to plug a Disney product for 30 seconds during the State Of the Union, but failed to mention New Orleans even one single time.

Speaking of the State Of The Union, thinkprogress.org does an outstanding job ripping apart the speech.

Evidence of 2004 voter fraud in Ohio!

Two election workers in Ohio were convicted yesterday of tampering with the Ohio recount of the 2004 presidential election. They set it up so the recount would look similiar to the original results of the state to avoid any controversy. The lazy media gave this story 2 paragraphs in the L.A Times. This is HUGE news, proving something fishy happened in Ohio in 2004, yet the media does not feel tampering with the election of a president & total subversion of our democracy is important. Trump and Rosie, American Idol, and the "kidnapped kids story" is much more important than our democracy!!

Republicans in Senate to working poor....

SCREW YOU, no minimum wage increase without more tax cuts for the rich!! This will head back to the Congress, and a battle will ensue for certain.

Who is responsible for the Obama "Madrassa" smear?

Democrats!!! According to the insane right wing media!!! The right wing media was caught in a lie and all they can do is blame the Dems!!! The story originates from a far right website, with no proof Hillary started these lies, yet she gets the blame.

CNN debunks this goofy issue, by actually going to the rather liberal Muslim school Obama attended, which was nothing close to a Madrassa. Unfortunatley for CNN, they only blame FOX for the disinformation campaign, ignoring that their own Glenn Beck was part of the lies!

EXTRA! InsightMag says that CNN's reporting "does not satisfy [their] standards for aggressive investigative reporting." So, let me get this straight: aggressive = dishonest? In an even funnier part to the story, they suggest that FOX, "who will look the facts straight on, without a vested ideological interest in downplaying Obama's Muslim heritage," launch their own investigation. They have a vested interest in UP-playing (playing up?) Obama's Muslim heritage, as they have been doing for the past few weeks.

Also, John Gibson, who was singled out by Obama's staff for spreading this nonsense, plays it off by claiming (99.9% likely falsely) that the CNN reporter actually went to the same madrassa.

These people have totally lost touch with reality. I'm not sure, though, if I should pity such willful ignorance.

Wolf vs. the Devil

Cheney appeared on CNN's Wolf Blitzer interview program yesterday once more proving this man is a degenerate sociopath. Read the transcript, you are going to be amazed.

State of the Union

Transcript of the SotU here. Transcript of Democratic response here.

More of the same from the Liar-in-Chief. Same empty promises, same lies, same crap.

Two more years to go... hopefully, less. Impeachment, anyone?

Message from the Evil Liberal Propaganda Network

Thank you for making the Evil Liberal Propaganda Network a success; heading into our seventh month, we have expanded our program with podcasts (as you know by now). Now, in addition to the live feed on Indie Airplay and the podcasts, we can be heard on Upstart Radio, a 24-hour Internet radio stream of politics, poetry and music.

We would like to thank Shawn Lennon (founder of Upstart Radio) for this opportunity. Segments of our program will be heard in the station's rotation. You now have more ways to hear us when we are not on live (Monday and Thursday 10PM-Mid EST on Indie Airplay) Download the podcasts and check us, and all the other programs, out on Upstart Radio!

See you Thursday night,
Jared and Ralph

P.S. I'll post a link to the State of the Union transcript, and the Democratic response, later tonight. Expect a thorough dissection Thursday night! -Ralph

Alberto Gonzales is an enemy of America

Even Republican Senator Arlen Specter can plainly see this. Habeas Corpus (the right to a fair tria)l does not exist in the constitution according to this little fascist Bush freak. These fascists have gone too far.

More proof republicans hate the troops

This is absolutely disgusting, military case workers all over America are being laid off. These patriots help military wounded and their families. In a time of war, these workers are a necessity; not so according to these filthy Anti-American animals running this country. This story is a must read, pass it to your friends, especially your friends who are enemies of America (Bush supporters). Explain to them, how supporting this administration is an Anti-American activity.
This administration must be peacefully removed from office, and not a second too late. Military Times reports.

Who else says the surge will not work?

Retired military generals, that's who!! In right wing sycophant world, Hannity, Marc Levin and Limbaugh know better than any retired general. Ask no questions, just send the troops to the meat grinder, Bush knows best. Don't worry about the U.S Marines who died this weekend in Iraq. These generals are traitors to America, Bush is the decider, any other viewpoint is Anti-American liberalism, all part of an evil gay agenda!!!!

The enemy is right here in America: the sycophants who continue to take "R" over America. You can quote me on that. Bush supporters are enemies of America. If Coulter can do it, so can I.
Jared

On Pentagon tribunals

The Miami Herald rounds up commentary on just how wrong the Pentagon's "tribunals" meant to try (and execute) the suspected terrorists held in Guantanamo are.

Most telling is this quote, from Col. Dwight Sullivan, USMC Reserves, Chief Defense Counsel: "The rules would allow an accused to be executed based on nothing but hearsay."

This is NOT justice... at least not for a "first-world" country. This is the kind of thing we'd expect to hear about in places run by dictators. Oh, wait a minute...

"But I'm the decider!"

The State of the Union, preliminary

Bush will deliver his first State of the Union address to a Democrat-controlled Congress tomorrow night. A recent WashPost/ABCNews poll shows Bush's numbers are deep in the toilet. America just doesn't feel that he is doing a good job... yet, he will insist on "staying the course," not just in the war, but in all policy aspects. Even though his speech to the American people on the "surge" fell on deaf ears, Bush thinks he will win people over in the SotU address.

Bush is becoming more dangerous by the day, if only because he refuses to acknowledge that he actually has to try to work with the Democrats. Signing statements and judge/lawyer replacements and firing nay-sayers have insulated him for the past six years. America must stand up, with one voice, and remind Bush both that he serves at OUR discretion, and that we disagree with his desire to deny the will of the people.

A final note on the State of the Union: Sen. James Webb (D-VA), whose son is serving in Iraq and who had 'words' with Bush last month regarding it, will be giving the Democratic response to Bush. It will be very curious to see how many of the "liberal media" outlets will actually air this response, as opposed to their actions after Bush's "surge" speech: cut back to network programming once the main speech is over.

Weekend Media Roundup

The right-wingers went on a tear this weekend. Check out MediaMatters and ThinkProgress for all the insanity. Here, for your perusal, are what I consider the "highlights" of the wackiness.

According to the Savage Weiner, the "homosexual mafia" has conquered British "soccer thugs".

In a classic moment of projection, Man Coulter claims that the Democrats are the "racist[s]" who are stunned that Obama "can walk and talk."

On a Cavuto program, Bo Dietl (a man who gives a bad name to New Yawkers on a daily basis) tries to keep the fear of terrorism alive while explaining to an imam that he will have to accept being suspected of terrorism due to his religious beliefs.

More projection: CNN's Dana Bash claims that Democrats oppose the war to appeal to the "anti-war left wing" of the party.

Finally, one moment of GOP goodness. Yes, Virginia, they DO exist... Sen. Hagel (R-NE), a Vietnam vet, debunks Cheney's claim that Congress going against the president on the war and surge "undercuts the troops".

The New Congress:What they have already done for America

The new Democrat-run Congress has already voted to stop the $14 billion tax cut to oil companies!!! This is positive news to 99% of America, but awful news to the "have mores" - otherwise known as "The Bush base"!

The new Congress beat their own 100 hour deadline passing 6 major bills, including the student loan interest rate, minimum wage increase and real anti-terrorism legislation!!

Once more, this shows that Democrats at least work after elected and Republicans just shake hands with big business and basically do nothing except de-regulate. Republicans rule for the 1%, Democrats rule for the 99%. Keep in mind the ELPN are not puppets for the Democratic party, but we must point out this fundamental difference between the parties.

More proof conservatives hate the America we LOVE...

We covered this conservative thinker's ideas on Thursday's program. Dinesh D'Souza - or, as I call him, D'moron - is at it again; this time, it is in an op-ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer . D'moron blames American secularism for 9/11. This is just more proof that conservatives are willing to turn their backs on the American way of life to appease the terrorists! D'moron craves a Christian theocracy right here in America; in his mind, this will placate the terrorists.

Liberals do not hate America, conservatives hate the way America is and want to go back to the 1600's when the Puritans tried to turn America into a Christian nation... back to the good old days of slaughtering Native Americans in the name of Christian civility!!! Who will be the Native Americans this time??

Podcasting News

Hey folks!

Two new podcasts are available from last Thursday's show, from segments two and three. Respectively entitled "AG Gonzales Will Be the Judge" and "Silence, Activist Lawyers!", they chronicle the GOP's relentless assault on the judiciary that has ramped up considerably since losing the legislative branch a little over two months ago.

Go forth, armed with both knowledge and argument, and spread the word. Do NOT let the GOP infest the legal system, lest there be no justice for John Q. Public vs. the government and its corporate sponsors!!!

I will try to drop a "classic" ELPN moment tomorrow, and get ready for a bombastic show, starting in about 30 hours' time, on Indie Airplay Radio!
