George Tenet tries to defend himself

In an interview to be broadcast on CBS' 60 Minutes this weekend, George Tenet claims that the Bush administration has misused his "slam dunk" phrase. Instead of referring to the fact that Saddam was pursuing WMD's, Tenet claims to have said it in reference to the kind of evidence that should be used when making the public case for war.

Tenet is desperately trying to regain some credibility here, even defending his use of torture to extract information from "suspected" terrorists.

Only time (and some sunlight into this enclosed, secretive neo-con government) will tell how accurate Tenet's comments are.

Further evidence in the attorney scandal!

We've spoken recently about Rachel Paulose, the unconfirmed (thanks to Sen. Specter's aide's addition to the Patriot Act renewal) appointee to US Attorney for Minnesota. It has come to light that Paulose's predecessor, Thomas Heffelfinger, was on that infamous list of "attorneys to fire" that ignited this scandal. The only thing that kept Heffelfinger from being a player in this was that he resigned some months prior to the mass firings. However, it has also been revealed that Karl Rove considered Minnesota a "battleground" state in 2008 - much like all the other states/regions where US Attorneys had been fired in the "purge." Heffelfinger believes he was on good terms with Gone-zo and Kyle Sampson, and, thus, can't understand why his name was appearing on these lists. Seemingly, he'd have been fired for the same reason that Bud Cummins was: to make way for a fully loyal Bushie!

If you needed more proof that these firings were fully political, this should be it.

In addition, Carol Lam, former US Attorney in San Diego who was fired for "performance reasons" (because she "performed" too well in prosecuting dirty, corrupt Republicans like former Rep. "Duke" Cunningham), will receive the "Outstanding Attorney of the Year" award from the San Diego County Bar Association. An interesting accolade for someone who supposedly had "performance issues," eh?

Unhinged, vile, and just plain evil: The GOP and their MSM familiars

Disgraced criminal and former Republican representative Tom DeLay joined the chorus of robotic smear-mongering right-wing freaks attacking Harry Reid for saying the same thing about the Iraq war that the military is. In the warped world of DeLay, speaking the truth is treason!!! DeLay is another enemy of the Untied States; he takes the war over the troops. If you support these freaks, you hate America.

John Kyl, another filthy Republican, attacked the Democratic party for wanting to walk off the battlefield before the job is done. Funny, during Clinton's term, Kyl voted to remove forces in Bosnia and Kosovo before the job was done. (EDIT) Interestingly enough, John McCain called for "precipitous withdrawal"s from Somalia and Haiti, also during Clinton's term. (end edit) These people count on your ignorance. Our bloodthirsty demonic freak of a Vice President viciously attacked Reid and the Democrats on their common sense Iraq policy. Again, if you support this administration, you seriously hate America. When do we start deporting neo-cos?

The empty suit of a talk show host who the main-stream media adores enough to have workng on both CNN and ABC at the same time, Glenn Beck, in a rage of unhinged G.O.P. LSD dropping, declares leaving Iraq would be America's most shameful act since slavery!!! When did Beck become the spokesperson for The Islamic States of Iraq? We all sympathize with the plight of the Iraqi people, but apparently the radical right takes the Islamic States of Iraq over the United States of America.

Glenn Beck may take the Iraqi people over our own country, but John Gibson feels the exact opposite way, and, in a fit of hate, calls the Iraqi people "knuckle dragging savages". I believe I have called right wing enablers the same insult.

American hero and Democrat John Murtha lashes out at John "Sunday stroll in Bagdhad" McCain's tasteless joke about explosive devices in Iraq. To the right, our soldiers death's are a joke. (EDIT: John McCain responds: "Lighten up and get a life"! As if we needed more proof that McCain is suffering from age-related dementia...)

(EDIT) Right wing hack and vile human being Bill Kristol appeared on a C-SPAN call-in program, where he was confronted with the words of a military wife who has good reason to be upset with the PNAC-driven war for oil. Kristol's response? Callers like this show why we need to increase the size of the military. WHAT? So we can have more military wives and children who have to live in fear that their husband/father will be killed in the quest for American oil profits? YOU SICK BASTARD. (end edit)

Subpoena Central: Condi come on down

The Waxman committee in the senate voted to issue subpoenas to Condi Rice regarding her role in the fake Uranium-Niger documents and the way the administration used this false information as a major justification for the Iraq war. Naturally, Rice's legal advisers are objecting to it based on false claims!

The Democratic majority is starting to deliver. These hearings and Subpoenas are the way to build the case against the Bush crime family. The Rice hearing will enlighten us further into the lies that were the "justification" for the Iraq war.

In other subpoena news :
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform also agreed to subpoena RNC Chairman Mike Duncan to answer questions about whether White House aides improperly used a Republican Party e-mail system for government business. As part of the suboneas more emails will be relaesed.
This is another vital investigation. What are these Bush administration officials hiding? Why did they use RNC email accounts instead of following legal procedures and using White House email accounts? What can we learn from these emails between 50 Bush administraton officials?

Henry Waxman is getting ready to issue more subpoenas to the disgusting, Anti-American administration.

According to TruthOut.org Waxman is looking for answers regarding several key illegal Bush crime family activities:

• Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for testimony about her role in President Bush's now discredited claim that Iraq was seeking to obtain uranium from Niger;
  
  
• Former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card for his testimony in regard to the leak of former CIA operative Valerie Plame's name to the press;
  
  
• The Republican National Committee for documents related to RNC e-mail accounts used by White House officials, including Karl Rove;
  
  
• And the White House for documents related to a federal contract given to a company that has been implicated in a bribery case.

Give the bastards hell Henry!! Let the truth come out bit by bit. It is time to remove these freaks from office once and for all.

Timothy Griffin: A Criminal appointed by the GOP

Greg Palast investigates the now infamous Tim Griffin, the Bush/Rove hack who was placed as a state attorney general by Gonzales in one of the now well known attorney firings. Griffin, who never had to go before a senate confirmation, is an actual criminal. Palast explains how this freak scrubbed voting lists all over America and actually scrubbed soldiers votes as well!! This little freak doing the degenerate bidding of Karl Rove, actually denied the right to vote for our troops!
This is unreal, this is a must read, these freaks must be removed from office.

The bizarre Karl Rove/Sheryl Crow feud!!!

This weekend at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, the most interesting thing to occur did not happen on stage, but rather at Karl Rove's table when Sheryl Crow and Laurie David walked over to Rove to discuss global warming. Rove refused to talk to them, and freaked out after Crow touched him!!! (Even more bizarre, Sanjaya Malakar (yep, the 17-year-old boy from American Idol) was at Rove's table...) Rove demanded the attractive Crow stop touching him and demanded Sanjaya start touching him instead!!! (OK, just kidding on that last part)

More bizarre is the nasty little freak Matt Drudge (who defended Mark Foley's behavior with the young page last October) frantically digging up anything to smear Sheryl Crow.

The right is indeed bizarre. From Sanjaya dining with Rove to Drudge's loyal defending of Rove, this reeks of Republican sickness. I wonder if Drudge and Rove troll together for the young boys! After all, according to Drudge, Mark Foley's e-mails to young boys were not a big deal; factor in Sanjaya and you have a bizarre right wing pedophilia fest!

I can't say anything about this without launching into a very profane rant, other than it should be obvious whose fault THEY think that school shootings are.

The aftermath of Gonzo's testimony

Most of the GOP seems to believe it is time for Gonzales to resign, though at least one neo-con hack, Rep. Chris Cannon (R-UT, who is chairing a subcommittee in the House's investigation), still insists this is nothing but a Democratic witch-hunt. However, the Bush administration is standing by their man, in the belief that a Gonzales resignation is tantamount to admitting that there actually was something actionable occurring within their ranks. Also standing strong is the "liberated" Oxycontin freak, Rush Limbaugh, who thinks that the GOP should defend Gonzo, even as he refers to Gonzo as an "idiot"!!!

Newsweek and McClatchy Newspapers both report on how Gonzales' testimony still leaves many questions unanswered.

One last tidbit from Gone-zo's testimony: He claimed that Western Michigan US Attorney Margaret Chiara was fired over "management issues." However, Minnesota US Attorney Rachel Paulose had, arguably, more "management issues" than Chiara - four top staffers voluntarily demoted themselves in protest of Paulose's management of their office. Any wonder why Paulose was not fired? Well, she's a beneficiary of the Patriot Act provision that allowed US Attorneys to be inserted without Senate confirmation, she's good buddies with Monica Goodling, and was an employee of the DoJ under Gonzo. She's a loyal Bushie, so, of course, she still has her job.

Podcasting and programming update

First, my humble apologies for not releasing a podcast from Thursday night's program until this morning. As SAT time approaches, my schedule gets ridiculously hectic, and I was swamped with work most of the weekend.

This week, the ELPN will only have one broadcast: tonight, in our usual time slot. We will try to put a package together for Thursday night.

I promise I will return to daily podcasting to cover our "disappearance" for this week. Perhaps a few bonus episodes will arrive as well...

Filthy neo-con blood drinker William "bomb Iran" Kristol, was smacked around by NPR's Juan Williams on Fox News Sunday. Kristol was attacking Harry Reid and Juan Williams appearantly could not take the right wing crap any longer. Reid's opinion is that of the majority of America.

The media has gone on a non-stop attack against Harry Reid. Reid recently said the war in Iraq can no longer be won militarily but rather economically, diplomatically and politically. This has not stopped the vile world of broadcast journalism from echoing GOP.com's viscious smear against Harry Reid. The old "defeat-o-crat' gag is back, and the amatur hour called broadcast journalism, is reciting exactly what GOP.com wants them to. The filthy media is cheerleading this failed war.

Progressive hosts must start focusing on Giuliani, because the threat is real, the media is campaigning for him and he will make you beg to have Bush back in office. I promise you one thing, if he gets into office, America will become a military police state, if you want troops marching up your block, kicking in your door, searching your property without a warrant vote for Rudy or continue to ignore him. If you want an endless war in the Middle East and a war against the American people at home, vote for Rudy or continue to ignore him.
