Kucinich is still standing...

Kucinich has been pushing for the impeachment of Dick Cheney; his push got a boost from Maxine Waters' joining the call for Cheney's removal for lying to the American people in order to go to war over oil in Iraq.

Everything but the bombings:

In Iraq news:

- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wrote a letter to Bush yesterday stating that they feel the surge is a "failure." Pelosi and Reid are also starting to notice that the American people both exist and demand a speedy end to this failed occupation. Keep it up, folks!

- It's pretty obvious that the violence is still continuing in Iraq, as evidenced by the mosque bombings over the last two days. This violence is slowing in the areas that American troops are focusing on; however, as we and many other people with functioning brains realized, a decrease in the violence in Baghdad just means they'll have their civil war elsewhere in Iraq.

- We joke about this on the ELPN, but apparently Tony Snow was serious: "[W]hen you see things moving towards success, or when you see signs of success... there are acts of violence." Hmmm...

Benito Giuliani: support fading......

In the latest series of presidential polls, Benito's support appears to be eroding. In the NBC/WSJ poll, Hillary pulled ahead of the freak 48%- 43%. A noticable drop from the last time NBC/WSJ polled.

The latest Quinnipiac poll shows Benito and Clinton at a statistical tie, with Hillary narrowly leading 45% to 44%. In their poll, the freak is not ahead of any of the Democratic candidates (he ties with Obama); even worse, he is trailing Al Gore - who isn't even officially running at this time - 45% to 43%.

Notice the trend of support of the ghoul fading...

Also notice that he's had two different opinions in the past year on just how responsible President Clinton was regarding his handling of terrorism. No surprise here that he just recently figured out that he has to blame Bill for everything short of the change of seasons.

The enemy within: The Neo-cons

Manuel Valenzuela wrote an amazing essay about the dangers of the neo-conservative cabal. It is a must read, and basically says everything we at the ELPN have been saying, only more eloquently. I highly suggest reading this essay.

Attorneygate today:

In Attorneygate news:

- Last month, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) pointed out in an impassioned speech on the floor of the Senate that e-mails don't just "disappear," like the White House claimed that the Republican Party e-mail accounts of several White House staffers did after they were "destroyed." The official line was that Leahy had no idea how the technology works. Why, because he's an older guy? Well, time has proven Leahy right, and the White House wrong: A whole mess of e-mails relating to the US Attorney scandal presumed "missing" are missing no longer! Now, he just has to subpoena those e-mails so we can - hopefully - get to the bottom of this mess.

- The Justice Department's Inspector General, Glenn Fine, is investigating whether or not Gone-zo obstructed justice when he "coached" Monica Goodling prior to her testimony. Leahy just hopes that the White House doesn't obstruct the investigation.

- It's now clear why the DoJ was changing its internal hiring practices to hire more people with religious bona fides: They planned on changing the Civil Rights Division's focus from "traditional" civil rights (race-based) to religious civil rights. Is this not surprising from the people who brought you "The War on Christmas/Easter/Jesus/etc."? As if Jesus love wasn't already practiced by a majority of Americans, they have to have the right to shove it down others' throats unnecessarily. It's not like the bigger religious "show" you make automatically makes you more "pious" or "saintly" than any other, and it's not like doing so will convince anyone who follows another belief to suddenly change their mind. It's not just about defending their right to speech; it's about defending their right to proselytize in public (as in, owned/run by the government) places.

Helen Thomas, tough-as-nails journalist!

Ms. Thomas asked White House Press Secretary Tony Snow a simple, easy question: "Are there any members of the Bush family or this administration in this war?"

Snow's reply? "The President."

I can't imagine how one could give that answer without immediately bursting into a fit of laughter. However, Snow was stone-cold serious, and reiterated it when Thomas clarified her question: "On the frontlines, wherever?" "The President."

The only reason why I am glad to say that Bush is not actually "on the frontlines" of this war is that he'd likely get himself killed, thus opening the door to the White House for Dick "Ticker" Cheney...

More on liars in the media:

Remember how, after the 2006 election, the media were quick to say that "America is still a conservative country," even though the Democrats trounced the GOP in the midterm election? Well, a report by Media Matters and the Campaign for America's Future show the exact opposite: a majority of Americans espouse progressive views, not conservative views. In fact, America was at its most conservative in the mid-1990's, right around the time of the "Republican Revolution" in 1994. Sadly, the GOP-led Congress of that time did not fulfill its end of their "Contract with America," which, one may guess, led people away from conservative ideals.

I'm sure the 68% of Americans who think this country is presently on the "wrong track" had something to do with the Democrats' win in 2006 AND the trend of America becoming more of a progressive nation. Screw the 19% who think things are going just fine; most of them are the pro-life/pro-war crowd, and the top 1% of "earn"ers.

In other media falsifications:
-Pat Robertson claims Islam is not a religion, but a "worldwide political movement meant (bent?) on domination." I think it's time for ol' Pat there to hang 'em up before he says something else this stupid.
-Bill O'Reilly also has no clue what he says when he opens his mouth. Apparently, when CNN and MSNBC air pictures of the violence in Iraq, they do so because they "delight in showing" it because "they want Americans to think badly of President Bush." He also accuses those networks of "helping the terrorists by reporting useless explosions." I wonder how he feels when FOX News shows the same footage? In other, and equally shocking, news, O'Reilly actually admits that "Bush may be an idiot"!!!

America deeply divided: Civil war in the air?

Interesting article from the Sun-sentinel of South Florida
Radio station WIOD, AM 610, has been the official channel for emergency information from Broward County government for the past year. The County Commission, all Democrats, balked at renewing the deal Tuesday, unable to stomach the station also being home to Limbaugh's talk show.

So in other words, the local county commission does not want to supply the emergency broadcasting feed to a local right wing radio station. One can conclude Broward county is deeply divided over the election theft in 2000, to the point they don't want to supply the right wingers hurricane information. They have every right to do this, although this may be a little extreme but understandable. The radical right has divided this nation for the last 25 years with the rise of right wing propaganda radio and the disgusting hate and lies that has emanated from the air waves.
Americans are so disgusted with the radical right to the point that the idea of right wingers having their lives destroyed in a hurricane due to them listening to their "master" of lies on the radio instead of paying attention to reality is acceptable! As mush as I despise the sheep who continue to support the GOP , I would not want to see them dead from a natural disaster..... we need them to kick around anyway!!!!!!!

With the 28% approval rating of their hero Bush, you no longer hear right wingers shrieking about a civil war against the liberals. Tide is turned CONS, you are now the moonbats.

What has the GOP done for workers ?

NOTHING!!!!!

This is a great article written several years ago by former Tulsa mayor Clint Gold. read it, and tell me which political ideology has helped 90% of this nation???? Conservative or Liberal?

The return of the podcast

Hey folks!

After an extensive hiatus, with only the merest of biscuits to tide you over, the Evil Liberal Propaganda podcast is back!

Most of the chaos related to my move is over - they're still doing a few repairs to the place, but the bulk of the work is done - so life can start returning to normal (or whatever passes for that with me).

Two podcasts are going up today, from last Thursday's phenomenal show; the main episode will be Part 1 of our GOP debate coverage, and the bonus episode will be the last segment, which covered the candidates' reactions to the call for pardoning "Scooter" Libby and other assorted media lies and nastiness.

Enjoy these podcasts, and look forward to many more coming at you fast and furious from the ELPN!

Fred Thompson; Fake candidate for the sheeple

While the absolute lazy and right wing complicit media is calling Fred Thompson a "Washington outsider" , the reality is the man is far from an outsider, he is an experienced lobbyist with over 20 years experience as carpetbagger pointed out . Let me get this straight, the Associated Press was clueless as to Thompson's lobbyist experience but "carpetbagger" (a little website) was more informed? Impossible, I tend to think the MSM loves this filthy little right wing freak and has started to build the "myth" behind the man. The media will tell you Thompson is an outsider from Washington, a "good old boy" who drives a pick up truck and the general message: "he is one of us, not a Washington elitist". How much longer is the MSM going to treat the American people with such contempt?

The slime ball Thompson was busy attacking Michael Moore for his expose into the failed American health care system.

Fred Thompson, yet another right wing freak, who governs for big business and fellow rich GOP donors... The perfect candidate to get the sheeple to fall in line and vote for.
The general GOP rule, the candidate most against the best interest of Americans, will be the candidate the sheeple flock to.

Thanks to the MSM, this pattern is as strong as ever..

Iraq: Stay awhile, stay forever

No progress according to the NY Times on the Hydro-Carbon (oil laws).... So if you think we are ever leaving Iraq, you may be smoking the crack pipe!!

Iran: operation cakewalk !!

According to the delusional minds over at The Weekly Standard, the next war will be a cakewalk!
A. We will have strong allies for this invasion!! We will build a new coliation of the willing including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey, Britain, France, and Germany !!!!!!!!!!!

B. The new shock and awe!!! will take a maximum of 48 hours!!!

C. Azerbaijanis and Kurds will gladly help with covert operations designed to weaken the Iranian regime!!!!!!

Most telling is this line in the article:
Simultaneously or prior to the attack, a major covert operation could be launched, utilizing Iranian exiles and dissident forces trained during the period of diplomacy
So in other words any "diplomacy" will simply be an act, as the "period of diplomacy" will simply be used to set up covert operations!!!!
This is the same model as Iraq!! The same exact model, a 48 hour cake walk, the populaton helping America, a fake attempt at diplomacy, the Al Queda "connection". Can these freaks trick America once more into another war?

Benito has a plan.........

The filthy little freak Benito Giuliani was out on the campaign trail yesterday and laid out his "platform", with a handy little "12 major priorities" list. Basically it was a bunch of GOP catch phrases which make more palatable to the brain dead voter the unpopular yet vital GOP positions: dismantling public schools, privatizing all health care and creating a total military industrial complex in America....

Matt Tiabbi's brilliant essay on Benito: Giuliani: worse than Bush

Benito visits retard with suit and forum Hannity.

World War 3: Around the corner

Joe Lieberman dropped hints this weekend, and now A.P along with everybody else are reporting this:

A senior U.S. diplomat accused Iran on Tuesday of transferring weapons to Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan — the most direct comments yet on the issue by a ranking American official.

Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns, speaking to reporters in Paris, said Iran was funding insurrections across the Middle East — and "Iran is now even transferring arms to the Taliban in Afghanistan."

Sounds like the propaganda is in full swing and this will be the Summer of tactical nukes on Iran.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

A high-ranking American military officer told the Post that senior officers in the US armed forces had thrown their support behind Bush and believed that additional steps needed to be taken to stop Iran.

Predictions within the US military are that Bush will do what is needed to stop Teheran before he leaves office in 2009, including possibly launching a military strike against its nuclear facilities.

You can count on a military strike on Iran, the "storyline" will be "Iran is building nukes and helping Al Queda". The Al Queda-Iran connection is a lie along the lines of the old Saddam-- 9/11 connection.

The question now is : Will America fall for this criminal regime's war crimes again? Will fear, lies and propaganda defeat logic once more ? Will this regime start their next oil war under the guise of fighting "terror"?

Hate speech debate

There has been a lot of debate regarding adding "sexual prefrence" to the conditions for a crime being a "hate crime". An attorney general from Utah argues in favor of the 2007 version of the hate crime laws. and debunks some of the myths about the bill, while right wing loonatic Richard Land of "faith and family" argues against the bill and claims it is a "thought crime" bill.

A few more tidbits:

Harry Reid denounces Democratic traitor Joe LIEberman's statement yesterday regarding Iran, saying that "the invasion of [Iran] is only going to destabilize that part of the world more."

On Stephanopoulous, John McCave shows his "cut and run from accountability" colors as he weasels his way out of his "the war's going to get better SOON" claims that he's thrown around the past four years

Sudan: Allies in the War on Terror?

While Bush has been denouncing the genocide in Sudan he also has a working relationship with Sudan for intelligence in the "war on terror".

Paris Hilton hypocrisy, part 2

Wolf Blitzer promised his viewers on Friday that he would not mention Paris Hilton's name. Oddly enough, his Friday program had a segment devoted to her. He did not say her name - but the reporter covering the story for his show did. Hypocrisy, or cleverness?

In "other" Paris Hilton-related news, John Edwards was asked on Thursday how he felt about her situation. He emphatically declined to speak about her, but took the opportunity to raise his "two Americas" point. Leave it to FOX News hosts to completely misrepresent his statement.

Arming the enemy?

The United States Military is now arming Sunni Arab groups that have promised to fight militants linked with Al Qaeda who have been their allies in the past.

Savage: Gay parents = child abuse!

According to The Gay Weiner, Republican candidates should tell gay parents that they are committing child abuse just by parenting their children!

This guy is despicable; his statements have only become more vile as time passes. Perhaps his time as a nationwide hatemonger will be nearing an end?

Developing the Gay bomb?????

Here is a bizarre story; the first paragraph speaks for itself:

A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals, and make them more interested in sex than fighting.

Party over Justice, GOP blocks no confidence vote

The Democrats failed to pass the "no-confidence" vote on Gonzales. What interests me is that 7 Republicans voted "yes" with the 48 Democrats (minus Sen. Johnson (SD)) and Bernie Sanders... yet only 53 "yes" votes were cast. The non-voting Dems? Biden, Dodd, and Obama... presidential candidates all. Hey, Hillary found the time to come down. Not that it would have changed the loss of the vote (all the Dems plus Bernie from Brooklyn still needed 11 Republicans to get cloture), but, guys, come on.

Meanwhile, a former Department of Justice official described Gonzales' DoJ as a "political arm of the White House"... Ralph and I have been saying the same thing for months now.

Gonzo, however, is unfazed by even the potential for a successful "no confidence" vote, again claiming he's staying "to protect the children"... Right.

Sunday, June 10, 2007

A few fast bits from ThinkProgress:

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell: close Gitmo now and restore habeas corpus rights!

Joe LIEberman: BOMB IRAN!!!

Paris Hilton to the MSM: Come on, guys, there's a war on that doesn't involve me or my lawyers.

Man, when Paris Hilton is calling the media insane... you know this media doesn't care about what is really important and relevant to the American people.
