Another crime comitted by the GOP??

From speaker.gov
The Oversight Committee has learned that over the objections of the National Archives, Vice President Cheney exempted his office from the presidential order that establishes government-wide procedures for safeguarding classified national security information. The Vice President asserts that his office is not an “entity within the executive branch.”

Right wingers whine about Talk radio report

Yesterday the the Center for American Progress and Free Press released a study on talk radio, proving the radical right completly dominate the industry. Marc Levin, who is becomming one of the most quoted right wing hacks and who was whining on the radio yesterday about Trent Lott's support of the immigration bill, wrote a colum in the National Review shrieking about the Center For American progress being part of a left wing conspiracy! of corse all of this is debunked in seconds!!

These neo-clowns just never stop whining now do they.

Rudy speaks about his coke buddy

Here is a clip from a local S.C T.V station, around 40 seconds into this clip Rudy Giuliani will stutter and stammer his way around his cocaine loving buddy and campaign head in S.C ,Thomas Ravenel

Voter caging: Another crime of the Bush regime

Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty testified today regarding voter caging today in addition to questions about his role in the attorney firings. John Conyers asked him questions about the issue and McNulty's knowledge of it including his knowledge of the Greg Palaste article(which first exposed the voter supression tatic known as caging) Look for exclusive hearings regarding Tim Griffin and Voter Caging, Boston globe, reports

If it was not for the Gonzales scandal we would have never seen this issue being discussed under the Judiciary committee.... The impact of the Voter caging accusations and the fact that Bush violated the presidential records act (as we covered in an earlier post) sounds like 2 sound criminal activities, and enough for impeachment. Voter suppression is a subversion of the constitution and democracy and the clear violation of the presidential records act are impeachable criminal acts!!!!

UPDATE: This site has some clips of the testimony!! Regarding the attorney firings, and vote caging

More on Rudy.....

More details about Rudy's absence from the Iraq study group has come out. In his 23 days in the ISG he never attended one meeting and made 8 paid appearances including a bizarre "christian motivational" appearance. Salon points out how much money this freak has made during his paid appearances. Rudy's excuse for missing the ISG meetings is absolutely pathetic, if he did not want the group to become "political football" why did he join?

Republicans eating their own: Talk radio and immigration

Trent Lott has been facing a lot of scrutiny from his fellow moonbat 28%ers. The radical right is angered that Lott is supporting this immigration bill. Conservative talk show hacks are sending their cult-like followers out in full force attacking any Republican who supports this bill. Lott apparently feels talk radio is the most powerful force in politics, of course he is mistaken. RNC radio, excuse me "conservative talk" is seriously not that powerful as they preach to their own little cult of 28%ers. Far more dangerous and relevant is the complicit and lazy broadcast journalism which has failed to inform this country on vital issues. "Conservative talk" is pretty much irrelevant as the "Republican cult" are the only ones listening. It is quite bizarre to watch these right wingers attack each other over a bill which is dead on arrival. Even more bizarre is that they are attacking the bill for all the wrong reasons. They shriek that the bill does not provide boarder security (which of course it does) and they shriek about amnesty, but leave out the "guest worker" aspect to the bill. I wonder why?

Sissy National Review hack and talk show bitch Marc levin, ranted and shrieked about Trent Lott on yesterday's program. He whined about Lott's past support of the fairness doctrine in addition to Trent Lott'ssupport of the immigration bill. Nothing quite as pathetic as a whining little Bush bitch crying about Trent lott!! Levin is a good moonbat to turn oforagoodlookinsidetheright wingnoise machine, he rattles off the crap like nobody else.

Rudy's coke buddy!!

Thomas Ravenel, a former real estate developer who became a rising political star after his election last year, was indicted Tuesday on federal cocaine charges.
Ravenel and another man were accused of distributing less than 500 grams of the drug starting in late 2005.
Ravenel is also the state chairman for former New York Mayor
Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign
So Giuliani has a coke dealer for his State Chairman in N.C?? Will this be the one to sink this maniac's campaign? With the Main Stream media in charge of the political discourse, do not count on it

E-mailGate !!

The story about the RNC email accounts does not want to go away, even with the help of the main stream media ignoring it completely.

Think progress reports:

For the last several months, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has been “investigating whether White House officials violated the Presidential Records Act” by using email accounts maintained by the RNC and the Bush-Cheney ‘04 campaign for official White House communications. Today’s findings confirm that the accounts were used “for official purposes, such as communicating with federal agencies about federal appointments and policies.”

Clinton Administration Policy: In 1993, then-Assistant to the President and Staff Secretary John Podesta sent a memo to all presidential staff explaining that the PRA required all staff members to maintain all records, including emails. Podesta stated that the use of external email networks was prohibited because records would not be saved as required. The 1997 White House Manual and a 2000 memo issued by Mark Lindsay, then Assistant to the President for Management and Administration echoed this policy, requiring staff to use only the White House email system for official communications.

The fact that the Clinton administration revised the law, did not stop Tony snow from lying to the American people during a press conference yesterday. Responding to a question about the illegality of the scrubbing of emails and use of RNC email accounts, Snow used the RNC trusted and approved talking point "CLINTON DID IT TOO"

Bush's signing statements under scrutiny

A recent GAO report revealed federal agencies are ignoring 30% of all laws passed under the Bush administration because of Bush's signing statements. As a result of this study, several lawmakers are calling for an investigation into Bush's signing statements.

This president has spit in the face of this country and firmly believes since he is president he does not have to follow federal laws which he himself signed!!!! I always thought the GOP was the "rule of law party"!!!!!! I guess the rule of law only matters to those without "R"'s next to their name. Law's do not matter if you are a member of "Team GOP"!!! The GAO study reflects this attitude of today's Republican party.

Giuliani: Iraq War expert !!!

The most vile candidate in the history of politcs Rudy Giuliani was once a member of the Iraq Study Group panel, the only problem the sleezeball never showed up to a single meeting and instead chose to go on his speaking tour and rake in $11 Million from repeating "9-11 9-11 9-11". The freak recently resigned from the study group. Now I understand why this degenerate, cross dressing, bomb dropping freak never mentions Iraq as part of his campaign platform, he does not know a damm thing about the war!!

Speaking of Benito, Populist America's Zen Garcia writes a scathing piece on Giuliani and the Fire department of New York.

Random things

Judge to FBI: You've got some 'splainin' to do! Who, exactly, was the FBI illegally wiretapping, anyway?

Pro-Bush is pro-business: Bush will veto the newest Homeland Security Dept. funding bill because it will require DHS contractors to pay fair wages, hire more border security agents, improve seaport and airport security, and restore cuts Bush wanted to make to the training of first responders. Whose side is Bush on anyway - ours, or the terrorists?

"I thought I was in the Mafia": Maj. Gen. Taguba, who produced the report that showed the horrendous torture occurring at Abu Ghraib, fought too hard, apparently, against the use of torture on detainees at the prison, and disliked that leadership was willing to let the enlisted soldiers take the fall for their horrific policies! He reveals some stunning insights into just how involved the leadership was in the Abu Ghraib scandal to Seymour Hersh at the New Yorker!

After further review: John Yoo, one of the legal architects of Bush's detainee policy, has decried a court's ruling that the policy of detaining subjects indefinitely cannot stand as an attempt "to deny what happened on 9/11."

Rescuing truth from the memory hole?: Turns out there was a LOT of emailing "outside the system" being done by the White House staff, and it was an "open secret" in the Bush administration. Not only that, but many of those emails have been purged, forcing those who seek the truth behind this administration's crimes to dig deeper and deeper to find out just who knew what and when.

Checks and balances: Tony Blair got Britain involved in Bush's war because he felt he could be the voice of reason that could prevent Bush from "nuk[ing] the shit" out of Afghanistan in the days after 9/11.

It's not about September !!!

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson discuses what the bait and switch game of "The September report" from General Patraeus.

Water Gate: 35 years ago....

Columnist Joe Strupp wonders, if Water Gate happened today, would the media bother covering it? With the complicit media being the way it is today, I doubt Water Gate would make it to the T.V.

Remove LIEberman from the caucus NOW

First, he criticizes Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for speaking negatively (albeit correctly) about Gens. Pace and Petraeus.

Then, we catch wind that he's said, "If [Bill] Kristol (editor of The Weekly Standard) says what I'm doing is right, it must be right."

WHAT?

Get rid of this bum. NOW!!! The good people of the state of Connecticut should seek to remove him from his office. He is not serving their interests - he is serving the PNAC/AIPAC/neo-con agenda above all else!!!

At least Joe Biden can stand up for Harry Reid.

If you can't fight, we don't care about you!

That's what the Bush administration says to wounded and sick soldiers returning from this illegal occupation of a nation for its oil.

A task-force study finds that the military's mental health services for returning veterans is poor, and suggests that the military bring in more staff to improve those services. This situation is made worse by the fact that we're sending troops back for second/third/fourth tours. Walter Reed is still a focal point, as the Washington Post points out: Considering that it is a major stopping point for disabled soldiers returning to the states, it should have a dedicated PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) department, as many other Army facilities do.

A report in Stars and Stripes shows that younger disabled veterans of the Iraq occupation are being shorted when it comes to receiving disability money.

Still more to come.

New Orleans turns to other countries for aid.

I think the title says it all. How sad is it that our own government cannot help rebuild one of its major cities quickly enough that the city must turn to foreign governments for financial support?

America is turning into a land of disgrace under the Bush administration!

Rudy: If at first the surge fails, surge, surge again!

The heir to Mussolini has stated that, if Petraeus says more troops are needed to make the surge work, he'd definitely commit those extra troops!

A Giuliani presidency would be a continuation of the ruination of America that began under Reagan, simmered under Pappy Bush and Slick Willie, and picked up again under the current Moron-in-Chief.

How to derail a black candidate:

...have white girls profess their attraction for him.

We saw this in the 2006 race for senator from Tennessee; Harold Ford, Jr., the Democratic candidate, was the victim of an advertisement that alleged he was messing around with a white girl at a Super Bowl party.

Now, we have... "Obama Girl." Seriously. Obama Girl.

Incredibly, this has led one "journalist" to believe that he's not sure what the Obama campaign would want him to cover. It's as if the MSM will NOT cover anything relating to policy at all when it comes to Democrats!!! We have: "people prefer Laura Bush to Hillary Clinton," "Hillary is not feminine enough," "John Edwards gets $400 haircuts - he's the Breck girl," "Edwards' wife's cancer will affect his ability to lead America," "Obama went to a madrassa and his middle name is Hussein," "Obama's wife will be like Hillary was," and now... this. I'm fairly certain that the singer of "Obama Girl" is actually NOT a fan of Sen. Obama. The "singer" in the video is lip-synching; apparently, she is not the actual singer.

In any case, we rarely hear about policy matters regarding GOP candidates either; however, they are, to a man, referred to as "tough" and "manly" and "good leaders."

THE MSM IS NOT LIBERAL!!! If you still believe the MSM is liberal, you are clearly either not paying attention or living in a fantasy world.

Yet more on GonzoGate...

This post will be edited throughout the afternoon as I get caught up:

Schlozman's "good Americans" sounds like "good Germans": When Bradley Schlozman was in charge of hiring at the DoJ's civil rights department, he went nuts removing minorities and women hired under Democratic administrations, and replaced most of them with white Christian men (referred to by Schlozman as "good Americans").

One last loyal Bushie: Bush finally signed the "no more 'loyal Bushie' attorneys" bill into law last Thursday. However, he stalled the signing long enough (10 days!) for Gonzo to slip one last appointment in: George Cardona is the new US Attorney in the Central District of California.

Another one bites the dust: Mike Elston, chief of staff to since-resigned Paul McNulty, has himself resigned from the DoJ. Elston may have been one of the foot soldiers of this Mafia-esque DoJ regime. He's been implicated in the hiring scandal (rejecting non-loyal-Bushie candidates), the false voter fraud scandal (coordinating with Schlozman to push the accusations through before the election), and the attorney-firing scandal (calling fired attorneys and threatening them to not testify before Congress).

"I'm not a zookeeper!": Tim Griffin can't really get his story straight regarding the caging scandal. First, he refers to it as Monica Goodling did ("it's a direct-marketing term"), then, somehow, gets sidetracked into saying, "I didn’t cage animals, I’m not a zookeeper." Ironic, isn't it, to get this reference when he's accused of helping to strike black voters off the rolls in Florida... eh? UPDATE: Today, Sens. Kennedy and Whitehouse are demanding a Justice Department investigation into the caging tactics practiced by Griffin and the rest of the criminals-I mean-Bush administration.

Tighten those leashes: Still hanging on to his job, AG Gonzo has decided he's going to make life harder for the US Attorneys now that he can no longer appoint any loyal Bushies. The attorney review process will be far more strict (in his words, "more vigorous and a little bit more formal"), and will also have a startling new feature... Let's hear it in Don Fredo's own words: "If I've heard of complaints from a member of Congress, it gives me or the deputy attorney general an opportunity to tell the U.S. attorney what we're hearing." WHAT? This is just his way of ensuring the process of keeping one's job as US Attorney entails making sure they do the bidding of the neo-con cabal!

The Savage Nation speaks out!

And, just as crassly as their favorite radio host - to no one's surprise.

As we reported on the last ELPN broadcast, Michael Savage Wiener somehow managed to win a "Freedom of Speech" award from Talkers Magazine. The awards ceremony was covered by C-SPAN. Savage declined to grace this ceremony with his presence, and instead sent a DVD of an acceptance speech. C-SPAN cut away from the airing of his canned speech, leading Savage to go on yet another "they hate me, they're Nazis" tirade against the public network. C-SPAN's Brian Lamb has since explained the network's decision not to air Savage's acceptance (the rant and Lamb's explanation are now on one page), but that wasn't enough to sate the Savage Nation. Lamb read a handful of irate e-mails from the knuckle-dragging right wing rejects who listen to Savage on his show a few days ago. Stunning stuff.

On a side note, Savage is now SELLING this speech for $20 on his website. Disgusting.

And, as a second note, last Friday, Savage went off on the Massachusetts legislature, claiming that the "gay mafia" bought their votes to keep gay marriage legal in their state.
