A national disgrace

Police at the University of Florida arrested and tasered 21-year-old journalism student Andrew Meyer for ASKING A QUESTION.

Every officer involved should be FIRED and any administration members OKing the arrest should be FIRED and all of the above should be SUED.

Yet another piece of America died right there.

I have found three videos of the incident. Each makes me want to cry and scream. I give much credit to this young man, because, were I in his position, I would have gone down fighting so hard that the cops may have had to do more than taser me. I want to kick each cop's ass just watching how they treated the guy. There is more anger in me than I have felt in a LONG time.

This video and this video show the question and the events in the hall from different sides. This video shows the events in the hall and outside the hall, where he was accused of "inciting a riot." I fail to see how this man's actions incited a riot in the place - that crowd was so docile that even the cops trampling on an American's civil rights did not inspire a riot!!!

The price in Anbar, more chaos, death and destruction

Greg Palaste points out the success in Anbar has a price, mainly ethnic cleansing of Shias and America aligning itself with former insurgents, some would consider "terrorists". Palaste also points out that the much heralded (by the GOP) Shiek Abu Richa (the one that Bush was so saddened by) isnothing but a thug himself.


Film Maker Rich Lowery, went to Anbar and learned about the price Shia are paying for the success in Anbar. Sadly the "Anbar progress" is simply more bloodshed, chaos and fuel to the civil war. Not only are Shia paying for it in Anbar,the troops are as well. By arming these Sunni militia groups, we are arming the same people who do not want peace, but want to kill Shia.

Kurds: Reach Oil Deal with a Bush buddy owned Texas oil company!!

Since the Iraqi government has not been able to seal the deal with the hydro-carbon oil privatization for the Bush crime family, the Kurds took it upon themselves to cut a production sharing agreement between Hunt Oil (owned by Bush buddy Ray Hunt, who is on the board of Halliburton. Ap/CBS News reports.

Nope, this war had nothing to do with the oil.

Greenspan speaks the truth, Dems look for solutions and Gates shows he is a loyal Bushie.

In Former Federal Reserves Chairman Alan Greenspan's new book entitled "The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World", Greenspan says what millions have been saying all along " AP reports :

"I'm saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: The Iraq war is largely about oil"

Secretary of defense Robert Gates was quick to Rush to the neo-conservatives defense, and declared that he does not believe this to be true. Keep wearing those rose colored glasses you little Bush lap dog.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Lantos agreed with Greenspan's stating of the obvious.

Meanwhile Democrats are looking for a way to change Iraq policy, although without the veto proof majority, this is no easy task. Washington Post reports on the Webb amendemt:

One of their best opportunities to change policy, according to party strategists and White House aides, could be an amendment drafted by Sen. James Webb (D-Va.), a former Marine, to mandate that home leaves for troops last as long as their deployments.

The Pentagon now may keep units in Iraq as long as 15 months and send them back after 12 months of rest. Webb's measure could force the Bush administration to trim troop levels to comply with its requirements, and the White House opposes it. But it appears to be gaining momentum in the Senate, where it received 56 votes in July, just four shy of the 60 needed to break a filibuster.

Stay the course Rudy, attacks move on, the N.Y Times and Hillary

Rudy was ready to use the Petraeus hearings as a way to attack Democrats, move on and Hillary Clinton. Rudy first falsely accused the N.Y Times of giving discounted rates to liberal groups like move on, that purchase advertising space. Rudy's campaign ran an advertisement in the Times attacking Hillary Clinton for her comments at the hearing and attacking moveon.org's own political ad in the Times calling General Petraeus, " General Betray us". Clinton said the General's statistics required "suspension on disbelief", which as we have discussed on the ELPN is a correct description. Giuliani’s senior communications adviser, Jim Dyke was on MSNBC attacking Clinton and the Democrats. Rudy drooling on a right wing radio show in Atlanta spouting his attack talking points, even more pathetic is Giuliani on Larry King, praising Bush's speech full of lies, attacking Democrats, praising General Petraeus, and explaining why we must stay the course!! Rudy declares we must remain on the "offense"!!! Rudy is staying the course and this will destroy his chance of becoming president.

Something tells me Rudy's little war has backfired, he lied from the start about the NY Times and America is not buying the "success" Bush and Petraeus are trying to sell. Instead of ideas, Rudy is busy attacking "liberals", attacking the N.Y Times, move on. org and attacking Clinton. The Rudy campaign for 2008 is shaping up already, Rudy is about attacking "liberals", not change, progress or ideas, CHEAP POLITICS. Staying the Bush way !!!

Jeez, how I hate this vile, freak of nature. Rudy makes me so sick, I have to stop blogging, for I'm getting very angry!

Lieberman: more vile than ever.....

Joe Lieberman recently attended the Sean Hannity and Oliver North "Freedom Concert", a supposed charity event where money is supposed to go to help families of Iraqi veterans, only problem is the money goes to the Freedom Alliance, Ollie North's think tank and not the Freedom Alliance Scholarship fund. The Freedom Alliance headed by Ollie North, had $14 million to work with at the start of the year, only $306,000 went to scholarships for the troops. Basically less than 1% of the money raised at the concert went to the troops. Daily Kos details the scam. Coulter, Hannity, Rudy Giuliani, Marc Levin and a few washed up country acts were at the N.J event.

Lieberman, went on Fox news calling for the end of partisan bickering in politics on Tuesday, hours before appearing at the Hannity/ Ollie North event! He earned worst person on Keith Olberman for his hypocrisy.
