Torture.....

Brent Budowsky writing for The Hill, explains why the Democrats sold out with the Mukassey vote...... A sociopathic wing nut from National review explains how great waterboarding really is!!! A mock video based on the actual waterboarding technique os circulating on YouTube. The point, in this dark satirirical video is simple, waterboarding is torture. We will discuss the torture issue tonight.

Yet another Media Matters roundup...

Michael Savage has been off his meds, apparently. He's had 2 near-heart-attacks on these clips!!!

First, he rants on the "brainwashing" we're supposedly undergoing through the media. Where exactly in the media, sir, are we being "brainwashed" that Islam is a religion of peace? All religions are, ultimately, religions of peace; most religious texts can be used to justify violence as well, and have through history. Which words we, as individuals, follow is indicative of our character. There aren't that many people who follow the hateful elements of Islam.

Second, he once again likens feminists/lesbians to the Nazis who "stuffed the ovens"!!! Nice job by the (staged?) caller throwing him a softball.

Next, Bill O'Lielly got into a few things this past week. First, we have him also ranting on the homosexual issue, discussing a 17-year-old lesbian couple listed as "Cutest Couple" in their high school's yearbook. Then, he claims that "regular people" are people who watch his filthy show.

Finally, find out why Sean Hannity thinks Halloween is a liberal holiday. We can't make this stuff up, folks.

Veterans Day Bush Style....

The N.Y times is reporting homelessness among Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans is way up, what does the GOP think the appropriate action should be? Veto Labor-HHS bill which includes $3.4 billion for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), which provides mental health and suicide prevention services, and $23.6 million for the military veterans that comprise a quarter of America's homeless population in the Homeless Veterans Program!!! Nice way to spit in their faces on veteran's day.

Iran: War Hawks marginalized?

The Financial Times reports that according to General Fallon, an strike on Iran is not in the works and he commented on the war-hawks constant rhetoric by stating "it is not helpful".

I'm sure the freaks running America are not too happy with what Fallon had to say...... The Guardian reports that private mercenaries are "grilling" Iraqi insurgents on information relating to Iran...... Does this "GRILLING" include filling one's lungs up with water??? Water-boarding??

Meanwhile The Telegraph UK reports that the Bush administration is not happy with Gordon Brown's lack of war hawkishness.

Can it possibly be the war hawks are finding themselves increasingly isolated and increasingly irrelevant?

Quick stories from the ELPN!!

Ellis Henicen writes in Newsday about the newly foundedd Bernard Kerik defense fund!!!
Anyone wonder if Kerik's BFF has anything to do with this??? Funny stuff.......

CBS's news online reports on the fake FEMA press confrence which took place after the California wildfires a few weeks ago. Think progress documented the entire incident. Washington Post reported on this as well. This of course, did not get very much television coverage.
