Obama's preacher problem...

Early last year right-wing pundits were questioning Obama's choice of church. The wing-nuts were referring to it as an "exclusionary black only church"; they were only part right as the church is African-American oriented, but there are white members. Apparently last year's minor attack was a foreshadowing of what the right wing had up their sleeves to release later on down the road.
Rev. Jeremiah Wright was the main Reverend for Obama's church until recently. Wright frequently preaches about oppression and racism against blacks in white America. Recently the media caught wind of some of his sermons and are using Wright's words as an attack on Obama's judgement. ABC reported on Wright, and aired clips of Wright saying "g*d dam America"; while discussing the "war on drugs" racist tendencies against blacks. Wright also referred to Israel committing atrocities against the Palestinians; which is taboo in today's political culture in the states. In another sermon; which Fox News aired; Wright gives his support for Obama; declaring that Clinton does not know what it is like to be black, and Hillary has "never been called a nigger".
Wright's message (in my opinion) is mostly true, but how well will this kind of rhetoric play to white voters who are far removed from the African-American experience in America? Factor in Wright's using of "g*d dam" and "nigger" in a church, and we could possibly have the talking point that deeply damages Obama's bid for president.
We will discuss this on Monday night's program...

Speaking of Obama, Robert Greenwald and BraveNew films put together a new video, covering all of the media attacks against Obama and the source where they originate from; Fox News. Surprise surprise
